The $30 million dollar Riverway project, located on the magnificent Ross River frontage is fast becoming one of the most exciting destinations the region has to offer, combining residential, commercial, cultural, sports and leisure facilities.
A council initiative, when completed, Riverway will stretch along 11km of the Ross River from Black Weir to the Ross Dam, just 300m from the River Parks doorstep!

Billions of dollars are being spent on infrastructure to meet the growth of Townsville including:
The $119 million Ring Road Motorway was completed and open to traffic in 2009 and is currently being upgraded from 2 to 4 lanes along it’s entire length. It embraces the 5.3km Douglas Arterial, completed in 2005 and the new bridge across the Ross River to provide a fast road link to James Cook University, the hospital and Lavarack Barracks.
Stage 4 is a 1-km section connecting Shaw Road across the Bohle Plains to the Bruce Highway.
Planning and design valued at $3.7 million is allocated this financial year and next for two stages of the Townsville Port Access Road. Stage 1 consists of the Stuart Bypass. Stage 2 is the Eastern Corridor.
North Ward Road will be upgraded at a cost of $8.8 million.
River Parks is now totally linked to all parts of Townsville and with major highways to the North, South and West (now that The Ring Road Motorway is operating) which means you can get to anywhere in minutes.
The Riverway Village retail and dining strip and Willows Shoppingtown are nearby.
From pre-school to tertiary, River Parks is close to many educational facilities. They include Kelso State School, Kirwan State, Kirwan State High, Ryan Catholic College, The Willows State School, Weir State School, The Barrier Reef TAFE and James Cook University
